I've been working in the warehouse at Prins since 2019. I handle all the products that come in and go out again. The work includes seeing to it that the items supplied end up in the right places, a variety of stock checks are carried out and making sure that all shipments of our castings and forgings are transported to our customers correctly.
We work as sustainably as possible at Prins. For example, we supply all products on Euro pallets and pallet collars that are reused in an exchange pool. Our shipments are done as efficiently as possible and when it comes to packaging we don't burden the customer with excessive residual waste.
I'm also responsible for the samples. When a sample comes in, I liaise with my colleagues and ensure that the sample ends up being delivered to the customer properly packaged.
Working in a warehouse also entails having the necessary safety equipment. We've got the right hoisting and lifting equipment for that and it goes without saying that we always wear safety shoes.
I was a logistics worker even before I joined Prins. I'm really happy here now. It's a relatively small organisation, which means you can and should get involved in everything, so there's plenty of variety. You get a lot of freedom in your role if you prove that you're up to the job.
Outside of work I do spinning twice a week and I like to get out and about doing a spot of photography.
